The only other passion of mine that comes close to music - actually, it ties with it - is books.
I just finished Lisey’s Story and really liked it. For those who haven’t read it - this song and Hank in general have a lot of air time in this book.
My favourite of his novels are the ones that - while still holding elements of horror - are also really moving, sensitive. The novels that let you see just how intelligent and thoughtful he really is. Stories like The Body, The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, Insomnia, and the tales of The Dark Tower.
I like most of his stories, honestly. Carrie and Christine are the two notable exceptions. But if more people would go deeper than the really popular ones, I think they’d have a better grasp of who he is as a writer, all around.
